Adventure does not always mean pushing harder from sunrise to sunset. On the Motor Adventures Sahara Experience in Morocco, there are adrenaline-fuelled phases of fast desert tracks, rocky trails, and challenging terrain.
But there are also long lunches, peaceful oases, incredible local food, and time to step back and take in where you are.
That balance is what makes the experience complete — and different. Curious? Find out all about the unique blend of our signature excursion below.

The Sahara Experience Has Adventure Where It Matters
Our 8-day Sahara Experience covers southern Morocco across six days of riding and driving, taking you from the Atlas Mountains into the desert and across varied off-road terrain.
And you can experience our carefully chosen route on one of our three vehicle options: enduro bikes, Can-Am buggies, or 4WDs.
Whichever you choose, you can expect ever-changing terrain, including:
- Rocky mountain tracks
- Hard-packed desert trails
- Sand dunes
- Dry lakebeds
- Fast desert tracks
- Oases and remote valleys
There is plenty to get your heart rate up. But the itinerary is designed so that the adventure never feels like a race. It’s all about you and your experience.

Calm Comes With the Territory in Southern Morocco
One of the biggest surprises of spending time in Southern Morocco is how quiet it can be. After a day on the move, arriving at a hotel, kasbah, or desert camp gives you the chance to slow down.
Some stops have swimming pools, gardens, and space to relax, while others put you right in the heart of the breathtaking desert landscape.
Day six on the itinerary, a shorter riding day, is a good example. It starts with a route that heads deep into the desert on twisting, undulating tracks. You’ll encounter occasional rocky sections, fast stretches of hard-packed sand, and rides through oases and valleys.
And at the end of the day’s adventure, we head to the small, cozy hotel, which is tucked away in the heart of a palmery. It’s a perfect setting to unwind and enjoy the afternoon.
This is adventure travel in Morocco without the need to fill every minute.

Morocco’s Culture is Part of the Route
The Sahara Experience is not simply about crossing Southern Morocco’s varied terrain.
The route passes through traditional settlements and remote areas where you can experience another side of the country. Just one example on the itinerary is the lunch we enjoy at a small gîte d’étape run by Mohamed and his family, an experience that creates a genuine connection to local hospitality.
These moments matter. They give the journey context and make it feel like an exploration of Morocco, rather than simply a series of loosely connected off-road stages.

The Sahara Experience Provides Comfort After the Dust
A day of riding is more rewarding when you know there is somewhere nice to put your feet up. After serious adventures, where you land at night matters.
At Motor Adventures, we choose accommodation that gives you a chance to properly reset between stages. Across the tour, this includes handpicked boutique hotels with local character, traditional, renovated riads and kasbahs where the walls echo with history.
or it could even be a desert camps beneath a sky full of stars.
But the evenings aren’t all about where you rest. Our experience comes with care, such as a massage therapist, recovery sessions, desert picnics, and delicious local cuisine.
This is part of what makes a Motor Adventures tour different. The rides are raw and exhilarating. The nights are refined and restful.
It is a simple idea executed to perfection: work hard on the trails, then enjoy the rewards.

Motor Adventures Takes Care of the Details
The difference is also in everything happening behind the scenes. All of our vehicles have a pre-programmed GPS, while a support car follows the expedition with a mechanic. It also carries medical equipment, first-aid supplies, a compressor, and other essentials.
This means you can focus on riding, driving, and taking in the landscape.
The route, accommodation, meals, and support are all arranged before you arrive. You simply turn up and get stuck into the adventure.
Our blog about the role of our crew in creating a world-class Sahara off-road experience takes a closer look at what goes on behind the scenes.
